Family Photo Shoot at St Andrews Beach
Outdoor family sessions are my thing. It’s where it all started for Harper Scott Photo. Not many of you will know this but I started out my photography adventure documenting families in Dubai before moving to Kenya. From there, I primarily capturing families living in Nairobi in a way that was natural, honest and modern in style. Here we are, almost a decade on, doing exactly the same kind of thing with the same kind of fun-loving people.
Whilst most of my photographic work is wedding orientated, I’m thrilled when an easy going, adventurous family get in touch; my heart skips a beat (or three). Some families opt for the drama of the mountains. Gillian was all about the beach. For her epic family session, we waited until September to get that gorgeous autumnal light we photographers drool over. There was some wind thrown in which was an added bonus. You see, photographers also like a movement despite what it does to clothing and hair!
In advance of our time together, we chatted about the kind of images she was hoping to get from the session. When they arrived, we got to work: we had an hour to play with as that was the limit for her three children. We pinged about a few spots to make the kind of photos that are now hanging proudly on her kitchen wall.
Give me all of the Gillians.
