AUTUMNAL WEDDING ROMANCE AT THE FIFE ARMS
Autumnal wedding romance at the Fife Arms hotel? Yes please!!! We love, love, LOVE The Fife Arms Hotel …you get it! This was our first visit to the glorious former Victorian coaching inn turned art-filled wonderland. Nuzzled in the dramatic Highlands of Northeast Scotland, the Fife Arms is a riot—it provides a singularly joyous, almost hallucinogenic take on Highlands culture. Throughout the hotel, there are more than 16,000 works of art, including a Brueghel in the Clunie Dining Room (imagine a 16th-century, Flemish, darkly religious Where’s Wally?), a couple of Picasso paintings and enough taxidermy to stuff a minor natural history museum. There’s nowhere quite like it.
For Jalan, an interior designer, the Fife was the indisputable standout venue that would host their gentle, intimate micro wedding. Jalan and Graham’s celebrations were atmospheric, beautiful and full of rich autumn colours and Scottish charm. Jalan’s Ivory Grace wedding dress was detailed and delicate and perfectly complimented by the gold shoes by her show designer friend. Graham wore his family tartan courtesy of Soy Kilts. Following on from a gentle morning, the ceremony was in the striking St Margarets Braemar. It was a thoroughly Scottish autumnal day with relentlessly heavy rain resulting in a convey of the Fife’s iconic Land Rovers shuttling everyone back and forth the church and the venue to avoid an absolute soaking. Jalan and Graham made the most of the brief weather window reprieve by dashing out to enjoy a few quiet moments which allowed us to create a handful of sublime portraits. We were all thrilled.
The rest of the day was full to the brim with heart-warming speeches, the cosy buzz of joy, outstanding wine and whiskey and a ceilidh by Cairngorm Music.
We can’t wait to head back to The Fife Arms. A now firm favourite for Harper Scott Photo.
