>> Cottiers | G11 5PU: FULL WEDDING POST HERE

An urban wedding packed full of unique and distinct details by Harper Scott Photo: https://www.harperscottphoto.com/home. Featuring outstanding wedding suppliers The Socials (https://www.coastentertainments.co.uk...) + Origami Fox (http://origamifox.co.uk) Elizabeth + Dominic styled their wedding on Dominic's bow tie. Yes. His bow tie which he bought it from Mrs Bow Tie. It was the first item they purchased post engagement. He loved it. Elizabeth saw the charm of it. Why not take things from there? Thereafter, the couple styled their wedding quirky accents. Origami Fox created Elizabeth's besopke paper bouquets, button holes along with other key pieces for the day. Sharing a love of their city and, more specifically, the West End of Glasgow, they opted to get married in the iconic Cottiers. As much as I enjoy outdoor weddings (elopements in the hills of Glencoe, converted barns and steading weddings) I love stylish urban weddings just as much. Cottiers afforded me plenty of opportunity to be creative. Following on from their Humanist wedding ceremony, we jumped into the camper van and made our way to Park Circus by Kelvingrove Park. It was easy making relaxed candid portraits of Elizabeth + Dominic. For most of the time, they forgot I was there. Following on from their meal and speeches, was a lively party. Along with his bow tie, music was the other aspect Dominic took control of. He compiled a mighty fine playlist which was filter through the internal sound system for the duration of their wedding day. Come party time, The Socials wedding band took centre stage. These guys are phenomenal. Lead singer Robin has an incredible vocal range. The Socials blow the cheesy wedding band cliche apart and re-write the script.

A former church in Glasgow’s West End, now space containing a theatre, bar + restaurant. It's surrounded by a garden with stone terraces for teaching outside in the summer. Whether you are thinking of a more intimate affair in their upstairs restaurant for 30 people, a quiet BBQ in their beer garden, or a full scale knees up with 200 guests in their ambient theatre, Cottiers can accommodate. .

>> Kinkell Byre | KY16 8PN

Why Do You Want to Capture Your Wedding on Video?: So that we have an amazing memory of the day. Many of our friends who have got married tell us that they never got to take in every aspect of the day and they also mention that they didn’t get chance to spend time with every guest so we hope that our wedding video will tell the story of the day and fill in the parts that we may not get to see. It will be a treasured memento of the day! Describe The Proposal?: We were in the US for a friends’ wedding in November 2015 and after that were spending a few days on our own in New York. Tom had been preparing for the proposal for some time and even let his family and a couple of close friends in on his plan. He took Jules in a cab to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and after a few aborted attempts at proposing in some of the more picturesque parts of the park – due to the sudden arrival of groups of school kids – took Jules into what was sure to be an empty part of the gardens in November – empty of flowers and people – the Fragrance Garden – and there proposed. No one knee just a very earnest conversation on a bench and the presenting of a vintage pocket watch. The venue(s), why this place above anywhere else: We chose Kinkell as we wanted to put our own stamp on everything – and Kinkell allowed us to do this, bringing in our own caterers, booze and decorations. Tom wanted to get married, in Scotland – he and his family are originally from Caithness – but didn’t want to drag everyone that far. St Andrews is also where Tom spent 4 years as a student so it was an added bonus that we found the perfect venue here. We also like the fact that we have St Andrews beach and the picturesque countryside as the backdrop to our wedding even if it is in November! Venue: Kinkell Byre Celebrant: Stewart Struthers, Humanist Society Scotland Caterer: St Andrews Event Catering Bar: Event Bars St Andrews Lighting: i-Light Pianist: Andy Lucas Band: The Dawn Patrol Florist: Stucio & Waow Photographer: James Gillham Hari and Make-up: Collette Ruddy Cake: A Bonnie Wee Cake

This place screams alternative; Kinkell Byre offers you exclusive hire of a converted barn which is full of character and rustic charm with plenty of room inside and out. Weddings at Kinkell Byre aim to give you the chance to create your own event with as much freedom as possible; the venue is literally a blank canvas.
